A Creative Commons for Enriching Relationships, Vibrancy and Economy

Cultural Creatives are people who are interested in sailing beyond the familiar horizons to create a common good for civil society.

What Is A Commons? The commons were traditionally defined as the elements of the environment – forests, atmosphere, rivers, fisheries or grazing land – that supported the ongoing vitality of a community. Our modern version of this concept is a creative commons, named 3231 Creatives, where members of a community connect and engage in a variety of activities that support local social well-being in the areas of:

• arts and culture
• education
• health and well-being
• environment & ecology
• local social and economic development
• local economic development

Specific activities are drawn from the interests and passions of our community.  People of all ages are welcome.  Our 24,000 foot space offers private studio space, as well as such as indoor and outdoor space for festivals, community meetings, gardens, workshops, art shows and performances. The events we will offer will also  provide opportunities to generate income that supports both the Commons and it members.

Sound ConneXions^TM supports the development, coordination and management of 3231 Creatives.

What is Sound ConneXions? Sound ConneXions is a socially innovative organization that links a community to its gifts and talents enriching relationships, vibrancy and economy..  3231 Creatives (3231) is one of our flagship projects.  It is intended to be a place where creativity, collaboration and innovation can create fun, teach new skills and nurture the spirit of a healthy and thriving community.  3231  will provide a place where a diverse set of community groups can  integrate their creative and community interests to create new and unique programs for people of all ages.

The building provides a rich array of options for artisans and community groups to hold workshops, meetings and celebrations.

• Mobile storage for artistic materials and a shared workspace optioni for artisans who cannot afford private workspace
• Industrial sized storage area with roll up doors and loading dock
• Compressed air, large-scale gas, electric and ventilation
• Expansive indoor and outdoor areas for collaborative project work, meetings, workshops
• Storefront display area

What is Unique About 3231 Creatives? With support from Sound ConneXions, members of 3231 Creatives will decide how to provide economic, social and ecological benefits to themselves and the community.  Using the guiding principles for social innovation they will create events focused on arts, culture, education, and health & well-being.

From Mukilteo: Proceed south on Mukilteo Speedway for 3/10ths of a mile and turn left on Fifth Street, continue west on Fifth Street which turns into Mukilteo Boulevard for five miles until you reach 41st Street.
From Edmonds: Turn right on State Route 104 (Sunset Avenue), continue on SR 104 for five miles and take the ramp onto northbound I-5. Continue on I-5 and use exit 193 (Pacific Avenue).
